Restaurants are no longer making progress on kids' menus. Sixty percent of meals exceed calorie recommendations, 45 percent of meals exceed sodium recommendations, and 40 percent exceed a combined saturated fat and trans fat recommendation. Meals that are high in calories, sodium, and saturated fat can contribute to a number of health conditions in children, including type 2 diabetes and heart disease.
