The winter holidays should be a time to come together and celebrate over good food. But this year, 50 million people (or one in six of us) will be hungry and food workers will lack critical protections if lawmakers do not provide urgently needed relief.
Congress is currently negotiating the next COVID relief package. Thanks to your advocacy, the package under consideration includes a temporary increase in benefits for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and provides additional funds for SNAP fruit & vegetable incentives, food banks and child nutrition programs. But the bill currently only boosts SNAP benefits for four months and fails to include other key supports for food workers. Please email your Senators and Representatives to demand they pass a COVID relief package that addresses hunger and protects food workers.
