America’s largest meat and poultry processors have thus far failed to adequately protect their workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. As of June 15, at least 97 plant workers and five USDA inspectors have died, and at least 26,969 workers have been sickened. Nearly 900 workers at a single Tyson plant in Indiana, more than 850 workers at one Smithfield plant in South Dakota, and almost 300 workers at a JBS facility in Colorado have tested positive.
Please take a minute to send a message demanding that America’s largest meat and poultry processors (JBS, Tyson, Cargill, Smithfield, Hormel, Perdue, Sanderson Farms, and Conagra)—who together have over 355,000 employees—protect their workers.
